报纸的“文学副刊”创作与批评并重兼具杂志的性质,这是中国近代报刊的一大特色。《大公报·文艺》与《晨报》《益世报》《民国日报》的文学副刊并称为民国时期四大副刊。《大公报·文艺》曾经组织了多次关于“书评”的讨论,在批评家、作者、读者、编者的多元对话中,比较完整地展现了一个京派文学批评空间。他们重视文学批评的独立意义与读者的存在,在文学实践中,用自己的文学体验来追求“纯文学”的审美境界,在此基础上提出文学批评的审美标准。
The creation and criticism of the newspaper’s “literary supplement” both combine the nature of the magazine, which is a major feature of the modern Chinese newspapers and periodicals.
