On November 24, 2007, the opposition to the Labor party was overwhelmingly won by the end of the election of the Australian parliament, and Labor leader Kevin Rudd will serve as Australia’s next federal prime minister. At first blush, I really thought the newly appointed leader was a Chinese. His fluent Chinese was even more amazing. In fact, Mr Rudd is a native Australian but his level of Chinese is envious of other Western leaders and the first Western leader to speak directly with Chinese leaders in Chinese. During an informal meeting of APEC leaders held in Sydney, Australia, in September 2007, Rudd addressed Chinese President Hu Jintao in Chinese, out of the expectation of the audience. The manipulative Federal Chancellery triggered many curiosities.
