Objective To investigate the significance of high-sensitivity C-reactive protein in the development of diabetes mellitus in pregnant women. Methods A total of 102 pregnant women treated in our hospital from March 2010 to September 2012 were divided into 35 normal glucose tolerance pregnant women group, 32 pregnant women with gestational impaired glucose tolerance group and 35 pregnant women The level of serum high-sensitivity C-reactive protein in pregnant women with diabetes mellitus and 39 healthy women during the same period as the control. Results Compared with normal control group, there was no significant difference in fasting plasma glucose and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein in normal pregnancy group (P> 0.05). Compared with normal pregnancy group, (P <0.05). Compared with pregnant women with impaired glucose tolerance, the fasting blood glucose and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein of pregnant women with diabetes were higher (P <0.05). Conclusion Hypersensitivity C-reactive protein can predict the onset of gestational diabetes.
