中国金属学会于1979年5月22～26日在长沙召开了第一次矿山岩体力学学术会议。会议由中国金属学会常务理事、冶金部矿冶研究所所长周行健主持,湖南省科委、省冶金局、省金属学会的负责人出席了开幕式。参加会议的有来自全国22个省(市)、自治区的正式代表列席代表等共239人。他们分属于冶金部、中国科学院、煤炭部、教育部、铁道部、二机部、建材部、化工部、水利部、电力部、石油部、国家地质总局、国家地震总
China Metals Society held its first academic conference on mechanics of rock mass mechanics in Changsha from May 22 to May 1979. The meeting was chaired by Zhou Xingjian, executive director of China Metallurgical Society and director of the Institute of Mining and Metallurgy of the Ministry of Metallurgy. Leaders of Hunan Provincial Science and Technology Commission, Provincial Metallurgical Bureau and Provincial Institute of Metals attended the opening ceremony. A total of 239 participants, including 22 representatives of 22 provinces (cities) and autonomous regions in the country attended the meeting.
