July 6, 1990, “Tianjin Radio and Television News,” No. 632, the front page “one week one review” column published an essay “good tracking interviews.” There is a paragraph of the text, as follows: In order to “hide the ugly”, the reporter had to use pen and paper when the “recent” (such as the beginning of this article) or “not long ago”, “day before” and other vague language. Time is the headline of the five major news, a “recent” word, inevitably make readers, listeners have “yesterday’s yellow” feeling, how many pause. This “yellow yesterday” language, can not help but have a glamorous sense. There are only “yellow flowers of tomorrow” in Chinese idioms, and “yellow flowers of yesterday” have never been seen before, the latter is obviously invented by the author. The author may think: Since it is an “outdated” piece, of course, it can only be linked with the past time and can not be associated with the future. Therefore, it can only be a “yellow flower yesterday.” In fact, he does not understand the source of this idiom. This idiom from the Song Dynasty poet Su Shi, “nine times the rhyme Wang Gong,” there are two words: “do not go home meet, Tomorrow yellow butterfly also worry.” Yellow flowers that chrysanthemum. Here is to say: Once the Chung Yeung Festival (September 9) has passed, the chrysanthemum is going to wilt and can no longer be watched (even the butterfly will not nostalgia for it). Later, people use this “tomorrow’s yellow flower” metaphor outdated things. The author did not understand this allusion, written as “yesterday’s yellow flower.” In fact, for Huanghua, today is square and tomorrow will be dying. As for yesterday, it may not be open yet. Why is it out of date?
