Oil shale is removed by heavy media cyclones prior to carbonization, which make up 70% of the ore gangue; 70% of the oil in the oil shale is recovered. Roberts and Schaefer Resources have successfully demonstrated the usefulness of oil shale enrichment prior to carbonization on the ground in its pilot production facility in Illinois. This is an important step in the total production capacity of oil shale industrial energy. Compared with the conventional method, this method can save a lot of costs.
