脱乙酰壳多糖是一种无毒的、可生物降解的化合物,加拿大科学家最近研究成功,利用这种化合物防治温室番茄尖镰孢根颈和根腐病。研究结果表明,脱乙酰壳多糖对植株生长和果实单产无不利影响。其防治病害的有益作用在于增强植株对真菌定居的抗性。在经过脱乙酰壳多糖处理的植株中,真菌的生长局限于表皮和皮层,入侵的菌丝显示了明显的细胞溃解。脱乙酰壳多糖可望成为防治温室植物病害的有效制剂。
Chitosan is a non-toxic, biodegradable compound. Recently, Canadian scientists have successfully studied the use of this compound to control the root neck and root rot of Fusarium oxysporum in greenhouse tomatoes. The results show that chitosan has no adverse effect on plant growth and fruit yield. The beneficial effect of the disease control lies in enhancing the plant’s resistance to the colonization of fungi. In chitosan-treated plants, the growth of the fungus was confined to the epidermis and cortex, and the invading hyphae showed significant cell collapse. Chitosan is expected to become an effective preparation for controlling greenhouse plant diseases.
