《弗兰肯斯坦》是英国诗人雪莱的妻子玛丽·雪莱在1818年创作的小说,被认为是世界第一部真正意义上的科幻小说,也是哥特式小说的经典之作。从创作之初到如今,成为诸多科幻小说的蓝本,也受到学术界的高度重视与激烈讨论。本文将结合文本,通过阐释主人公弗兰肯斯坦与怪物二者形象之间的关系,来把握作者对“人性”的理解。
Frankenstein, the novel written by Mary Shelley in 1818 by Shelley’s wife, is considered to be the first real science-fiction novel in the world and a classic of Gothic novels. From the very beginning of creation to nowadays, it has become the blueprint of many science fiction novels, and has also been highly valued and heatedly discussed by academics. This article will combine the text, through the interpretation of the relationship between the protagonist Frankenstein and the image of the monster to grasp the author’s understanding of “human nature ”.
