虞山派作为明清之际最有影响的古琴流派,在其琴学传承上,可渭渊源有绪。从其琴曲风格来看,远可溯至唐初之“吴声清婉”;近则继承了宋明之际“浙派徐门”的琴学传统,其间又曾受到明代宫廷琴谱和吴地民间音乐与民间琴家的影响。在审美上,虞山琴派倡导的清淡和雅,博大和平之琴风。清代王坦在其著作《琴旨》中曾记载:“浙派清和善俗矣……虞山派,严氏之学,必体认清微淡远四字,得中和之用,应妙合之机。”一、虞山派形成的历史背景
