时基波束扫描微波着陆系统(简称MLS)是国际民航组织(ICAO)规定的第二代国际标准着陆系统。它克服了仪表着陆系统(ILS)的许多缺点,将使各种飞机的进场着陆变得更加快速、灵活和安全,大大增强了机场的吞吐能力。本文将叙述MLS的发展背景、基本工作原理和系统配置,比较MLS和ILS的优缺点,列出ICAO在1985年的通信导航专业会议上通过的ILS向MLS过渡的规划,并在最后介绍MLS的现状和今后的发展趋势。
Time-based Beam Scanning Microwave Landing System (MLS) is the second generation international standard landing system stipulated by International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). It overcomes many of the shortcomings of the ILS, will enable a variety of aircraft approach landing faster, more flexible and safer, greatly enhancing the airport’s throughput. This article will describe the background, basic working principle and system configuration of MLS, compare the merits and demerits of MLS and ILS, list the plans of transition from ILS to MLS adopted by ICAO in the 1985 conference of communication and navigation, and finally introduce MLS The status quo and future trends.
