The crystal of the title compound diethyl (4,6 diamino 1,3,5 triazine 2 yl) phosphonate, (C 14H 28N 10O 6P 2, M r =494.40), has been prepared and determined by X ray single crystal diffraction. The crystal belongs to the triclinic system, space group P 1 with parameters: a=8.398(1) , b=10.206(1), c=14.538(2), α=75.221(3), β=85.965(3), γ=81.746(3)°, V=1191.6(3) 3, S=1.028, Z=2, D c =1.378Mg/m 3, μ =0.233mm -1, F(000)=520, λ (Mo Kα )=0.71073, T =293(2)K, final R =0.071 and wR =0.1953 for 4177 independent reflections with I≥2σ(I ). In the title compound, each molecule is linked to five neighbour molecules by hydrogen bonds forming layers perpendicular to the a axis and molecules in each layer are linked by a two dimensional network of hydrogen bonds in the bc plane.
