[Objective] To study the diurnal variation of photosynthesis of Platycodon grandiflorum A.DC,in order to provide references for its cultivation.[Method] By using Li-6400 portable photosynthesis system,the photosynthetic rate,transpiration rate,stomatal conductance,intercellular CO2 concentration and photosynthetic active radiation of Platycodon grandiflorum A.DC at different time periods was detected,and its photoresponse curve was fitted.[Result] The diurnal variation of photosynthetic rate showed a two-peaked curve and an obvious “noon-break”.As indicated by the correlation analysis result,the noon decrease of photosynthetic rate was caused by the stomata factors.The light saturation point,light compensation point and apparent quantum yield were 1 418 μmol/(m2·s) ,68 μmol/(m2·s) and 0.067 7,respectively.[Conclusion] Platycodon grandiflorum A.DC was a shade plant that had strong ability to utilize low light.
