1990年在凉水自然保护区对31年生黄波罗红松人工混交林的生长量、林分状况及生物量等进行了调查研究。结果表明:31年生黄波罗林生长仍处于旺盛时期;黄波罗在混交林中的生长状况比在纯林中要好,黄波罗在混交林中病腐率为25%,而在纯林中达40%。黄波罗红松人工混交林群落总生物量为73.53t/ha,其净初级生产力为3.12t/ha·a,与其它林型相比,黄波罗红松混交林净初级生产力处于较低水平。
