Idiopathic uveal leak syndrome (IUES) is a special type of secondary retinal detachment, is a rare disease. It is a spontaneous serous retinal detachment with choroidal detachment around the ciliary body. Early scleral decompression of the disease is a simple, safe and reliable treatment. We were followed up for 3 years or more in 5 cases of patients undergoing scleral decompression between 1993 and 1995.
