作为台湾留美作家的代表,白先勇所著的《纽约客》一书蕴藏了他对于文化身份认同态度的流变。从夹缝中的对立,到自我认同的两难及至跨界的救赎与想象,作者描绘出纷繁历史变迁下,散居海外华人的复杂客居历程。在这一历程中,作品呈现了一个世界客居者之文化身份的认同与重构。
As a representative of the Taiwanese writers in the United States, Bai Xianyong’s book New Yorker contains his changing attitudes toward cultural identity. From the confrontation in the cracks, the dilemma of self-identification and the redemption and imagination to cross-border, the author depicts the complicated journey of living of overseas Chinese under the complicated historical changes. During this journey, the work presents the identification and reconstruction of the cultural identities of a world’s guests.
