The New High School Biology Curriculum Standards (Experiment) emphasizes the study of the history of science. Learning the history of biological sciences enables students to follow the path of scientists to explore the biological world, understand the nature of science and the methods of scientific research, and learn the spirit of scientists’ devotion to science. It is of great significance to cultivate students’ biological science literacy and scientific attitude. “The discovery of double-helix DNA” is hailed as one of the greatest discoveries of the 20th century and is of epoch-making significance. How can teachers use this material to give full play to the educational value of the history of life science? The author has made a useful attempt to use the role-playing method to let students look back at history and experience it.
