The Consumer Price Index (CPI) is a guideline reflecting the price changes of goods and services consumed by a certain class of residents during a certain period of time. It reflects the degree of change in living expenses in different periods of a country or a region and is an economic barometer of inflation in various countries. The representativeness of the current CPI samples, the structure of various types of retail commodities, and the determination of the weights of service structures are not yet sufficiently rigorous and not very scientific. It is necessary to draw on the information about the price indices of developed countries and on the actual conditions in China, The index itself features and should have the function, as well as the establishment of the price index system to start with the current price index to be updated.
