文奎堂是解放前北京规模比较大的一家书店,设在当时北京古旧书业的另一中心隆福寺。文奎堂的开业颇具传奇色彩。清光绪二十六年,八国联军入侵北京,王公贵族纷纷逃亡。有个河北束鹿人在王府做仆役,留守王府,替主人保住了家产,主人奖赏了许多银子。这个仆役就用这笔银子开了文奎堂、带经堂两家书店,请的老板都是自己的叔伯兄弟。因为有这层关系,所以文奎堂做各个王府的买卖比较多。启功先生年轻时,就经常读文奎堂的书,当时他们家与文奎堂关系非常密切。 Wen Kui-tang was a large-scale bookstore in Beijing before the liberation.
