《文艺报》一九八四年第六期发表胡士平的《歌剧能振兴吗?》文章说,当前的歌剧脱离群众,突出地表现在两个字上,一个叫“旧”,一个叫“洋”。旧,首先是旧在思想内容上。在不少歌剧作品中,也没有塑造好真正能够体现我们这个时代精神风貌的人物。也有人认为,旧是旧在题材上。要求全盘“洋化”的第一个表现,是竭力否认我国歌剧的优良传统。第二个表现,是在创作、演出实践中竭力把我国歌剧洋化。这几年,歌剧界的同志们都在从理论上探索歌剧
