Objective To understand the influence of cardiocerebral vascular diseases (CVD) on the life expectancy of residents in Shandong Province, and to provide effective reference for the prevention of high-risk population and the rational allocation of health resources by the government. Methods Based on the data of CVD death monitoring in Shandong Province in 2012, we calculated the death rate and death cause of CVD based on the calculation of crude death rate and death rate, and calculated the life expectancy of all causes and the life expectancy after CVD. Results The death rate of CVD in Shandong Province in 2012 was 46.30% of the total deaths. The crude death rate of CVD was 320.16 / 100000 (the standardization death rate was 252.85 / 100000). CVD death rates of men and women were 332.99 / 100,000 and 307.02 / 100,000, respectively; CVD death rates in urban and rural areas were 267.28 / 100 000 and 341.84 / 100 000 respectively; CVD mortality increased with age and increased rapidly after 60 years of age; Residents expect life expectancy at 79.20 years and 78.14 years respectively. The expected life span of all causes of death in urban and rural areas were increased by 8.51 and 10.02 years respectively. The life expectancy of males and females was 75.94 years and 81.16 years respectively. Life expectancy increased by 8.02 and 11.10 years respectively. Conclusions The life expectancy of death from CVD in both urban and rural areas is significantly higher than that of all-cause mortality. Reducing the death caused by cardiovascular diseases is of great public health significance to improve the life expectancy of population.
