A residential building in the center of Toronto, Canada, which is believed to be the world’s largest in terms of height and width, has been started and is expected to be delivered in 2000. The 450-foot-high, 30-foot-wide and 170-foot-long residential building breaks the traditional design, and its ratio of height to width is 15 to 1, which is said to be the highest in the world. The exterior of the residential building is made of golden glass and the thickness of the outer wall concrete is 1 foot. The kitchen in the residential unit contains equipment worth $100,000 and the unit is also equipped with anti-theft systems to discern sounds, electric or gas stoves, and wall-mounted stereos. In addition, residential units can open two or three floors as required by the occupants, with a minimum of 1400 square feet.
