中枢神经系统内存在丝裂素活化蛋白激酶 (MAPK)级联 (cascade)途径 ,是细胞内主要的信号转导系统。MAPK级联途径主要包括Ras ERK通路、JNK SAPK通路、p3 8MAPK通路等 ;它与神经营养因子 (NTFs)、神经细胞表面受体如G蛋白偶联受体 (GPCR) ,蛋白酪氨酸激酶受体 (TKR)、神经递质如钙离子、乙酰胆碱等作用有关 ,具有极其重要的生理功能。此外 ,MAPK级联途径还参与了脑发育异常、脑细胞凋亡、脑损伤及脑损伤的保护等病理生理机制。
