济南每天需要排出大量的生活污水(如廚房、理发、打扫廁所等脏水)和工业废水(工厂、矿山排出的脏水),这些脏水往往被认为有毒而不加利用,把大部分的污水和废水都排入小清河,使小清河变成“臭水河”,污染了河道,影响居民的飲水和环境卫生。1955年济南市北园人民公社和西郊人民公社的部分生产队,为了搶救作物,減輕旱情,对污水灌溉农田进行小面积的試驗,效果很好,用污水浇灌的作物生长茁壮,产量比未浇污水的提高50—60%左右,有的高达1—2倍。利用污水灌溉农田对保証郊区农业生产更大跃进,增产更多的蔬菜、粮食,以支援社会主义建设有重大的意义。现将污水使用經驗介紹如下:
