The relict sediments on the East China Sea shelf were strongly reworked by postglacial transgression, which resulted in a set of reworked sediments of transgressive genesis. They have marked difference from the lower relict sediments of regressive genesis of the Epipleistocene.Reworked sediments resulted from relict sediment after being reworked, expression of which is the mud removal action that made the sediments coarsened. Therefore, median diameter, sorting coefficient, ratio of sand/silt+mud and variation of the grain size of migrating components are important marks for determining the reworking extent.
The relict sediments on the East China Sea shelf were strongly reworked by postglacial transgression, which resulted in a set of reworked sediments of transgressive genesis. They have marked difference from the lower relict sediments of regressive genesis of the Epipleistocene. Reconstituted sediments resulted from relict sediment After being reworked, expression of which is the mud removal action that made the sediments coarsened. Therefore, median diameter, sorting coefficient, ratio of sand / silt + mud and variation of the grain size of migrating components are important marks for determining the reworking extent .
