西伯利亚大陆桥运输在上一个世纪里实现了自己的经营目标。这条跨欧亚的通道曾在一段时期运量高达13.8万TEU,每天发运5列以上的集装箱列车,加上货运直通列车,总货运周转量达到13530亿吨。随着世界形势的变化和本国经济发展水平的影响,以及中国连云港-阿拉山口大陆桥运输的形成,现在西伯利亚大陆桥运输已降到第三位了。国际运输市场日趋完善,据统计从西伯利亚过境的货运量1999年比1998年增长了4%,总运量仅为2.2万个集装箱,所以总体水平是比过去大幅度地降低了。为扭转这种落后局面,必须对大陆桥运输采取以下几方面的改进措施:
Trans-Siberian Continental Bridge has achieved its goal in the last century. This cross-Eurasia corridor, which used to transport up to 138,000 TEU for a period of time, dispatched more than 5 container trains a day and freight-through-train, brought the total freight turnover to 1.3530 trillion tons. With the changes in the world situation and the impact of the country's economic development and the formation of the Lianyungang-Alashankou Continental Bridge in China, the transport of the Siberian Continental Bridge has now fallen to third place. The international transport market is maturing. According to the statistics, the volume of goods transiting from Siberia increased by 4% over 1999 as compared with 1998, with a total capacity of only 22,000 containers. As a result, the overall level has dropped significantly from the past. In order to reverse this backwardness, we must take the following measures to improve the Continental Bridge transportation:
