In the mid-16th century, Macao became the most important and prosperous international trade port in East Asia. However, since the mid-17th century, Macao has entered a long period of decline due to the decline of Portugal’s national conditions and the new challenge of colonial countries. This is even more the result of the Portuguese authorities’ exclusion policy that excludes other Westerners from entering Macao And the more serious, to the mid-eighteenth century, Macao’s economy has been difficult to sustain the predicament. Under the counter-offensive of the Qing government’s closed-door policy, the Portuguese and Australian authorities adopted the legal measures for the legalization of outsiders entering Macao, thus bringing about the transformation of Macao’s urban functions from the port of commerce of Portugal to the residence of all those who came to Walsin. The social economy in Macao depended on this Resurgence, and then lay the “Oriental Monte Carlo” urban prototype.
