This article discusses techniques for monitoring engine and lubricant conditions. The types of equipment monitored include gasoline, diesel, dual fuel and natural gas engines. For used oil analysis methods include: ① infrared spectroscopy, ② membrane filtration, ③ direct reading spectrometer, ④ automatic viscometer. In order to get the best benefit from the oil analysis data, you must have a good understanding of the background of the test oil.
