New media covers all digital forms of media. New media is different from traditional media. It is more time-efficient, has faster dissemination and updating, lower cost, more information, more content, and is loved by the masses. With the advent of the new media era, it is clear that traditional media reporters have become unable to adapt. Therefore, traditional media reporters need to rapidly change their working methods, adjust their attitudes and identify their own positions in order to meet the challenges. Specifically, under the new media age, journalists are no longer the major distributors of information, and they should assume more responsibility of supervision and guidance. This article discusses the positioning of journalists in the new media era to help traditional journalists change their roles in order to adapt to the new media era.
