The American drama Revenge, adapted from the famous Revenge literary book Earl of Monte Cristo, by French romanticist Dumas, is the same as the original one. Revenge and love are the distinct themes throughout the play. From a literary ethical point of view, the Sphinx factor has been fully demonstrated in the drama. Different combinations and changes of human factors and animal factors reveal the process of human ethics selection. Different combinations of rational and free will complicate character and behavior, leading to different ethical conflicts. In the course of vengeance and revenge, ethical knots are constantly being formed and deconstructed, showing the dark side of human nature and society, but at the same time they also promote the mainstream ideology of the society in favor of the people.
