英语是世界上最通用的语言,在日常国际交往与合作中起着重要作用。由于各国在价值观念、宗教信仰、风俗习惯等方面有独特的文化认同,对于外语学习者而言,学习一种语言也意味着学习一种文化。所以,文化差异客观上要求英语教学应加快从早期的语言技能教育为主向文化交流为主的转变。为促进不同文化间的相互了解,大学英语教学应在尊重不同文化的前提下实施跨文化教育。我国跨文化教育研究的现状存在某些缺陷,针对这些问题做出相应的调整,才能促进大学生全面素质的提高。
English is the most common language in the world and plays an important role in daily international exchanges and cooperation. Because of their unique cultural identity in terms of values, religious beliefs, customs and habits, learning a language also means learning a culture for foreign language learners. Therefore, cultural differences objectively require English teaching should speed up the transition from early language skills education to cultural exchange. In order to promote mutual understanding between different cultures, college English teaching should implement intercultural education with respect to different cultures. The current situation of cross-cultural education in our country has some shortcomings. It is necessary to make corresponding adjustments to these problems in order to promote the overall quality of college students.
