Objective To study the micronucleus rate, white blood cells, hemoglobin and platelet count of peripheral blood lymphocytes in radiation workers in Anyang City and to understand the effects of long-term low-dose ionizing radiation on body health. Methods The micronuclei of lymphocytes were observed by micro whole blood culture method and the blood routine was detected by TEK-IIPLAS hematology analyzer. Results The frequencies of micronucleated cells and micronuclei of peripheral blood lymphocytes in radiological workers were 1.15 ‰ and 1.32 ‰, respectively, which were significantly different from those in control group (P <0.01) (P <0.01). There was a significant difference in the detection rate of leucocyte and hemoglobin among radiotherapy group and control group (P <0.05), and the difference of platelet abnormality detection rate Statistical significance (P = 0.91). Conclusion Long-term low-dose ionizing radiation has an impact on the health of the human body. It is necessary to strengthen the protection and conduct regular health examination.
