为提高“中国近现代史纲要”教学实效,嘉兴学院进行了研究性教学的改革,形成了由三大教学环节构成的研究性教学模式:提出问题及组织学习小组、分组研究及成果汇报、总结反思。研究性教学作为一种新教学模式在“纲要”教学中的运用,改变了以传授和灌输为主要方式的教学模式,从多方面满足了学生的发展需要,但仍面临诸多难点。
