对旧建筑的关注始于纪念性建筑,却朝着城市环境与城市生活方向发展——帕特瑞克·盖德斯称此为“历史的情怀,发展的生活”[1]。当前我们所面临的最大挑战是历史的遗赠,认识到建筑除了新建,更多的是继续建造,认同新旧的价值、现代和传统的意义、建筑的多样性。旧建筑的判断依据是:建筑材料老化、使用者新的需求、低碳节能需求、美学更新。对旧建筑进行更新主要源于三个层面的矛盾:城市人口急剧膨胀与城市建设用地资源短缺的矛盾;
The concern with the old buildings began with monumental architecture, but evolved into urban settings and urban life - described by Patrick Treasury as “a history of empathy and a developed life” [1]. At present, the biggest challenge we face now is the bequest of history. We recognize that in addition to building newly-built buildings, we are more concerned with continuing to construct and recognize the values of old and new, the significance of modernity and tradition, and the diversity of architecture. The old building is judged on the basis of aging building materials, new needs of users, low-carbon energy needs, and aesthetic renewal. The renewal of old buildings is mainly caused by three levels of contradictions: the sharp expansion of urban population and the shortage of urban construction land resources;
