POET Technologies公司曾预言,砷化镓(Gallium arsenide,Ga As)很快就会取代硅,成为高性能晶片的材料选择。相较于硅,砷化镓能在提升电晶体性能的同时,整合光学电路的功能;这些特质能带来更高的性能以及创新的晶片架构,并因此让摩尔定律(Moore’s Law)寿命无限延长。
POET Technologies has predicted that Gallium arsenide (GaAs) will soon replace silicon as the material of choice for high-performance wafers. Compared to silicon, gallium arsenide can enhance the performance of the crystal while integrating the functions of the optical circuitry; these qualities lead to higher performance and innovative wafer architectures and thus extend Moore’s Law life indefinitely .
