Earthquake source mode is the understanding of earthquake formation conditions, inception and outbreak process. It is an important theoretical issue that is closely related to earthquake prediction. Discussing the hypocenter model of an earthquake should solve such issues as source stress field, seismogenic structure, and source physics and chemical processes. The fundamental basis for solving these problems comes from various actual materials exposed before, during and after the earthquake. The geological characteristics of the earthquake are the background of recognizing these problems. Simulated experiments provide the clues for our understanding of these problems.
