In this paper, by determining the horizontal distribution of total β-radioactivity in the sediment of Xiamen sea area, especially the Jiulongjiangkou area, it is understood that the vast majority of sediment entering the sea of Jiulongjiang River flows through the outside of Xiamen along the mainstream direction of Jiulong River water Enter the sea off the port, only a small part of the sediment input to Xiamen West Port. However, silt in the Jiulong River entering the West Port can only stay in the west section of West Harbor and can not enter the east section of West Port. The sediment entering the west section of Jiulong River can only reach station 16 and can no longer go northward. Similarly, a part of the sediment of the West Harbor is exported to the Jiulong River estuary by ebb tide, finally entering the sea. Therefore, we think that the main reason for siltation in Westport is caused by the erosion of the sediment of the environment around Westport. As for the sediment coming down from Jiulong River, it only exerted some influence on the Songgu Strait in West Harbor, and no obvious influence was seen on the Strait of Xiamen and Drum Strait at West Harbor.
