在中性/碱性(pH约为7.5~8.5)条件下向试剂中添加ASA,能够使纤维素纤维对水分吸收的抑制作用增强。像松香酸一样,烯基琥珀酸酐(ASA)能与明矾以同样的方式混合,作为酸性抄纸的施胶剂。此外,在pH为4.5~6.5的酸性条件下,商业性的ASA也可用于回用挂面纸板、优等纸、防水及模型材料的生产。用于纤维素纤维的ASA和AKD是以阳离子分散体的形式存在,它们先于纤维素纤维形成网面,进而被压榨和干燥。这2种施胶剂的使用,对造纸商们从以高岭土作为主要填料的酸性抄纸向以碳酸钙作为主要填料的中性/碱性抄纸转变是有利的。
The addition of ASA to the reagent under neutral / alkaline conditions (pH of about 7.5-8.5) increases the inhibitory effect of cellulose fibers on water absorption. Like rosin acid, alkenyl succinic anhydride (ASA) can be mixed in the same way as alum as a siccative for papermaking. In addition, the commercial ASA can also be used to recycle linerboards, premium papers, waterproofing, and modeling materials at acidic pH 4.5 to 6.5. ASA and AKD for cellulose fibers are in the form of cationic dispersions that form a web prior to the cellulose fibers and are then pressed and dried. The use of these two sizing agents is advantageous for the papermakers to switch from acidic papermaking with kaolin as the main filler to neutral / alkaline papermaking with calcium carbonate as the main filler.
