印江是贵州建县较早的县份之一 ,早在唐武德年间 ,境内就建有思王县（今朗溪镇所在地遗址）和思邛县（今县城西郊甲山村遗址） ,境内思邛水源远流长 ,思邛山文物古迹众多 ,珍稀动植物不为鲜见 ,特别是唐宋以后 ,当时的思邛山后改称的梵净山得以陆续开发 ,形成了独到的佛教文化
