Cajal stromal cells (ICCs) are pacemaker cells of the gastrointestinal slow wave that are involved in the transduction of neuromuscular signals. ICC plays a key role in the generation, maintenance and gastrointestinal motility of slow waves. Patients with diabetes due to poor glycemic control can cause gastrointestinal disorders, delayed gastric emptying, gastric electrical pacing activity injury, slow wave rhythm disorders. When diabetic gastroparesis, ICC significantly reduced the number or even missing, ICC network structure destruction, or even reconstruction.
