对于研究有机化合物結構比紅外綫光譜更新的物理方法是测定試体的旋光譜。这是利用一种仪器测定試体在紫外及可見光的范圍內各波長的旋光度,將这种各种波長的旋光度按波長列成图譜,便成为旋光譜。旋光譜是以照光的波長(mu)为横座标,以比旋(Specific rotation)×10~(-2)为縱座标,如下列各图所示。观察試体的旋光譜,便可按照若干已知的規律帮助推定分子的结构。其实这种方法早在一百多年前已有人应用,不过因仪器構成不能合格,所以它的应用
The physical method for studying the structure of organic compounds that is newer than infrared spectroscopy is to determine the spin spectrum of the sample.
