Since the 1990s, the economies of East Asia and Southeast Asian countries have rapidly risen and maintained a relatively fast growth rate. The Asian economy has also exerted a tremendous influence on the rest of the world and has been one of the driving forces behind the economic recovery in Europe and other regions. However, within Asia, the Asian economic structure has undergone tremendous changes. The Japanese economy, which has long been the locomotive of the Asian economy, is nowhere near what it was. Some declining trend in Japan’s economy this year shows that Japan’s economy is moving toward Decline. According to Japan’s “Economic News” quoting Japan’s Economic Planning Agency as saying that Japan’s GDP has stagnated for five consecutive years and is expected to reach the middle and lower reaches of the economic growth by the end of this century. In the first quarter of 1995, Japan’s industrial output was below the peak of 1991 by 7%. Japan’s industrial production capacity was as high as 30% or more. Japan’s jobless rate reached 3.2% in 1995, the highest level since 1953, and due to the large number of redundant Japanese companies, the figure is actually lower than the actual situation. In 1994, the unemployment rate of university graduates was as high as above 17%.
