In recent years, a new ultrasound scanning method has been used to identify renal cysts and solid tumors; its advantages are easy to operate, economical, complication free, and easy for patients to accept. Accuracy has been reported at 76-90%. The authors of this study identified 118 cases of suspected renal masses using a B-mode ultrasound scan to identify renal cysts and renal parenchymal tumors. In 71 cases, the final diagnosis was confirmed by surgical operation, autopsy and clinical observation. Of these, 9 cases were misdiagnosed with ultrasound. The overall accuracy rate is 87%. Nine cases were misdiagnosed as follows: One case of intravenous pyelogram showed a slight twist in the right kidney and a slight distortion in the right kidney.
