使用滚花一滚压工艺可修复因加工或磨损而直径尺寸超差的孔和轴,从而保证设计的配合间隙。该工艺是首先在小于尺寸下限的轴或大于尺寸上限的孔的表面上滚花,使表面层凸起,然后再加以滚压的使之达到所要求的尺寸。如果滚花后不是用滚压的办法,而是对轴用车或磨、对孔用铰或珩磨的办法,使之达到要求的尺寸,其缺点是从本来已经缺少金属材料的表面再去掉一部分金属,结果会使支承面积减少很多,而滚花一滚压工艺则可以避免这个缺点。下表列举了各种材料滚花后径向尺寸变化量。
