耐热合金应该具有以下两个基本性貭即: ①有足够的长期强度(在给定的温度下). ②有足够的抗氧化的能力. 大家都知道一般是利用加入合金元素的方法来达到一定的强度及耐热性水平.现在合金理论已经发展得足以指出提高强度之方向.可以根据对于原子键强度的影响来选择这种或那种合金元素:增加原子键强度愈多就愈好.也同时可以按这个标准来决定合金元素的数量.例如根据在两个温度测X光反射强度的方法[1951;1955]研究了Cr对α-Fe的结合力之影响.[1955].工作的结果如下表所示:
