明中都城遗址,位于今安徽省凤阳县城西隅。中都城是明太祖朱元璋于洪武初年建造的都城,是其后修建的南京和北京皇都的蓝本。中都城连同先后修建的明皇陵和龙兴寺,形成了庞大的皇家建筑群。然而,随着历史的推移,其地上建筑早已湮没殆尽,只留下残垣断壁、剩砖片瓦供后人凭吊了。笔者幼长于斯,在古陶瓷学者杨士林先生的指导下,留意于凤阳明初陶瓷的收集、研究。在这一过程中,笔者越来越感到,在当前明初洪武陶瓷研 Ming capital site, located in Fengyang County, Anhui Province today.
