本文以英国20世纪50年代作家约翰·韦恩的著名小说《叛逆年代》(Strike the Father Dead,1962)为研究对象,以美国著名心理学家艾里希·弗洛姆的自由理论为指导,揭示了主人公杰里米从迷惘到自由的心路历程。文章分析了主人公从追求愤怒与叛逆的“消极的自由”到以自发的爱和工作为基础的“积极的自由”转变,并分析了其背后深刻的心理学动因,并得出结论:“消极的自由”不能帮助现代人走出迷惘与困顿,只有通过自发的爱与工作建立起与世界的联系,才能实现真正的自由。
This article takes Strike the Father Dead (1962), a well-known novel written by British writer John Wayne in the 1950s as the research object, guided by the free theory of the famous American psychologist Iris Flåm, Reveals the protagonist Jeremy mentality from confusion to freedom journey. The article analyzes the protagonist’s “passive freedom” from the pursuit of anger and rebellion to the “positive freedom” based on spontaneous love and work, and analyzes the profound psychology motivation behind it, Conclusion: “Negative freedom” can not help the modern people get out of confusion and distress, and only through spontaneous love and work to establish contact with the world, to achieve true freedom.
