Prototype Introduction The British ML 51mm light mortar was equipped with British troops since the 1940s and has been in service until the 1980s. Ordinary mortars rely on artillery shells naturally fall from the launch spout hit the firing pin launch. In order for the shell to fall freely and hit the firing pin, the barrel can only be tilted, since the mortar used in this firing method can only be curved. The ML 51mm mortar uses a pull-type launch mechanism, the firing pin is not fixed but can be active, the external mechanism driven by the shooter fired the mortar fired at the bottom of the firing pin firing. Using such a launching mechanism, the firing of a barrel can take on a tilted condition as well as a horizontal condition so that the mortar can be curved and flattened.
