“外师造化,中得心源”说是唐代画家张璪提出的著名画论命题,但是此命题所包含的理论内容,亦适用于书法、绘画、音乐、舞蹈等艺术,因而具有普遍的意义和价值。“外师造化,中得心源”说本是艺术创作论命题,但又涉及艺术本体论及对艺术家心灵品格之要求等方面的理论。本文认为,“外师造化,中得心源”说具有艺术本体论内涵,因为古代绘画、书法、音乐、舞蹈等艺术创作皆以艺术家之“心”为源,艺术家之“心”也就构成了乐、舞、书、画等艺术之本体。
