沙门氏菌在其进化过程中获得了致病岛-1,2,3和一些致病小岛。致病岛-1介导该菌对肠上皮细胞的侵袭;致病岛-2介导细菌在巨噬细胞内的生存,致病岛-3使细菌能在低Mg~(++)环境中生存。其他的致病小岛也赋予细菌的某些毒力特征。这些致病岛均通过水平基因转移获得,并使沙门氏菌从正常菌向致病菌转变。
Salmonella acquired pathogenicity islands-1, 2, 3 and some pathogenic islets during its evolutionary process. Pathogenicity Island-1 mediates the invasion of intestinal epithelial cells; Pathogenicity Island-2 mediates the survival of bacteria in macrophages, Pathogenic Island-3 enables the bacteria in the low Mg ~ (++) environment survive. Other pathogenic islets also confer some of the virulence characteristics of bacteria. These pathogenicity islands are all obtained by horizontal gene transfer and transform Salmonella from normal to pathogenic bacteria.
