In August 2005, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, the author came to the home of a peasant in Pingzhai Village, Xijiang Town, Leishan County, Guizhou Province, the largest Miao Village in China, and interviewed Hou Zhengming, the Miao anti-Japanese hero. The tough, energetic 84-year-old man tells us a little-known fighting story about the expatriate homeland of the Chinese Expeditionary Force. 1921 Hou Zhengming was born in a poor peasant family in Xijiang Town, Leishan County, Guizhou Province. At the age of 20 (that is, January 16, 1941), the Kuomintang government recruited the Young Expeditionary Army locally. Hou Zhengming was enlisted and enrolled in the Army of Expeditionary Force.
